Hooray! You made it through the searching, negotiations and paperwork. You’re not off the hook yet. Now it’s time to actually move. This step starts with packing up all of your belongings, which you’ve probably already done. Next is the decision of moving on your own with help of friends and family, or using a moving company.
If you’re going to move on your own, you’ve got this covered with a good meal and some celebration time with those that helped you. However, if you’re going to use a moving company, you need to do some homework. It’s wise to research things like: are they insured?, do they have valid references?, etc… You also want to make sure whatever you agree on is in writing, in the form of a signed contract.
Now it’s time to take care of all of those little things that may have been put off until the last minute, eg. transferring utilities, kids school information, bank information, etc… For a more complete list and reminders for that final move go to: http://www.realestateabc.com/homeguide/buying13.htm
